Disney suele pensarse como un territorio de la infancia. Sin embargo, en Disney World Orlando, miles de adultos sin niños forman parte de la experiencia cada día.
El resort tiene cuatro parques temáticos, dos acuáticos, numerosos hoteles y espacios de entretenimiento. Su tamaño es el de una ciudad pequeña.
Este proyecto se centra en Walt Disney World como un espacio diseñado para sostener la ilusión. Los visitantes regresan de manera recurrente, coleccionan objetos y consumen sus historias. Una forma de fascinación persistente en donde nostalgia, seguridad y distracción se entrelazan.
Desde el 2011 he visitado el complejo casi todos los años. En 2024 comencé a desarrollar este proyecto fotográfico que continúa hasta el presente. Siendo tanto partícipe como observadora, documento cómo los visitantes se relacionan con esta fantasía y adoptan gestos, comportamientos y formas de expresión que probablemente no mostrarían fuera de este contexto, en donde lo artificial se mezcla con lo natural y lo absurdo se vuelve cotidiano.

Disney is often seen as a realm of childhood. Yet at Walt Disney World Orlando, thousands of adults without children take part in the experience every day.
Walt Disney World is an expansive, self-contained environment with four theme parks, two water parks, numerous hotels, and entertainment spaces, large enough to function almost as a city of its own.
In this project, I use this setting to observe how adults immerse themselves in a shared fiction: a space where play is no longer understood as a childhood activity but becomes a socially sanctioned experience, sustained by a sense of belonging. Some visitors return repeatedly, collect objects, and consume its stories, reflecting a persistent fascination in which nostalgia, security, and distraction intertwine.
Since 2011, I have returned to this resort almost every year. In 2024, I began developing this photographic project, which continues to the present. My repeated return makes me both participant and observer, placing me within the same cycle of repetition I document and allowing me to consider what brings me back.
Through photography, I observe how visitors engage with this fantasy and adopt gestures, behaviors, and forms of expression they might be unlikely to display outside this context. Here, the artificial merges with the natural, and the absurd becomes ordinary.
